Just John shares a new record and a visual treatment for ‘Inner City Kids.’ the intro track for the Toronto emcee’s upcoming LP Renaissance Boy. Directed by Frocasso the venturesome video follows Just John and his clique through downtown Toronto, Scarborough forests, building rooftops, live performance and weaving through subway carts.
Along with Just John’s cutting lyrics, Jeremy Rodney Hall’s bass blaring production and The Loon’s resonate soulful vocal the record leaves a strong impression. The flick is a blend between a candid day in the life of the Scarborough boy trying to figure out life in Toronto and a tribute to the inner city youth seeking purpose during a continual fight to rise above the odds in a bustling metropolis.
