Hailing out of Portland artist Aviel has been making waves in the hip hop world due to his tight delivery and restless creativity. His latest ep ‘Chapter One’ demonstrates his ear for rhythm but also catchy hooks and insightful rhymes. Each song has a distinct sound of it’s own with production duties shared among a rotating stable of talent while the ep still maintains a cohesive style. Aviel has a street level delivery with rhymes informed and filtered through an intelligent mind with a lot to say.
Stand out tracks are ‘LLTP [Long Live the Pharaoh’, where he demonstrates just how many rhymes he can cram into a bar, and ‘The Cycle Repeats’. That said, it’s hard to find a bad cut on this fantastic ep from an upcoming talent. Not to mention the dope cover art.
